We’re a crew of young people (11–18) who actually care about making Chesham and the surrounding villages a better place to grow up. If you’ve ever thought ‘someone should fix this’ — that someone can be you.
As a Youth Councillor, your voice isn’t background noise. It’s the main event. Share ideas, call out issues, pitch solutions — whatever matters to you matters to us. Mental health, recognition, diversity, the environment… we’re all about youth‑led change that hits different.
We meet once a month on a Monday to plan cool projects, talk about what’s happening in our community, and make Chesham more inclusive, supportive, and inspiring for young people. If you’re 11–18 and live in Chesham (or go to school here), you’re in. No experience needed — just passion, ideas, and a willingness to get involved.
At Chesham Youth Council, our mission is to empower young people by amplifying their voices and supporting their actions—so they are heard, understood, and able to make a real impact.
We work closely with Chesham Town Council to ensure youth needs are reflected in community decisions, including:
🌳 Landscaping and amenity improvements
🏀 Expanding facilities and opportunities for young people
🗣️ Representing youth perspectives in local governance
We aim to:
Identify and raise awareness of issues affecting young people
Ensure these concerns are recognised by relevant authorities and included in their plans for action
Highlight youth-led initiatives and achievements
Inform the public and celebrate what young people contribute to our community
Together, we’re building a Chesham where young people are not just the future—they’re part of the present.
