Chesham Youth Council

Chesham Youth Council is a dynamic group of young people aged 11 to 18 who are passionate about making Chesham—and its surrounding villages—a better place for youth to thrive.

We provide a platform where young voices are heard. Whether it’s sharing ideas, raising concerns, or proposing solutions, our members speak up on the issues that matter most to them. From mental health and recognition to diversity and the environment, we champion youth-led change.

We meet monthly on Wednesdays to plan initiatives, discuss community matters, and work together to create a more inclusive, supportive, and inspiring town for young people.

Membership is open to all young people aged 11–18 who either live in Chesham or attend full-time education in the area. If you’re ready to make a difference, we’d love to welcome you.

Our Purpose

At Chesham Youth Council, our mission is to empower young people by amplifying their voices and supporting their actions—so they are heard, understood, and able to make a real impact.

We work closely with Chesham Town Council to ensure youth needs are reflected in community decisions, including:

• 🌳 Landscaping and amenity improvements

• 🏀 Expanding facilities and opportunities for young people

• 🗣️ Representing youth perspectives in local governance

We aim to:

• Identify and raise awareness of issues affecting young people

• Ensure these concerns are recognised by relevant authorities and included in their plans for action

• Highlight youth-led initiatives and achievements

• Inform the public and celebrate what young people contribute to our community

Together, we’re building a Chesham where young people are not just the future—they’re part of the present.
